Betty Dabney [ top ]
Photography
Betty Dabney started out wanting to be an artist but got sidetracked by the details of life until about five years ago, when she became "serious" about photography. Her work has won awards and has been in galleriew and in both national & one-person shows. In her day job, she is Acting Director of the Maryland Institute for Applied Environmental Health at the University of Maryland College, Park School of Public Health.

Artist's Statement: I strive to capture the essence of a subject using digital photography. Most of my images are representational, but some are experimental and abstract. All are characterized by a strong sense of composition and color or contrast, with a painterly effect. I started out as a painter many years ago, and painting still informs my work. Sometimes I "paint" over the pixels numerous times to achieve the desired effect. This process may take many hours. Earlier images were taken with Olympus equipment. I am currently shooting with a Nikon D40X, which produces such good images that they seldom need to be modified except to convert to black-and-white when the image calls for it.

Eazie's Eyes [ top ]
Jewelry
Eazie's Eyes is the studio name for our partner, Sigrid Holser. Sigrid has been working with fine arts and crafts her entire life. She attended community college, majoring in intaglio printing and went on to attend classes in drawing & painting at The San Francisco Art Institute. After retiring from her professional career as a software engineer, she is again pursuing her first love. Her work with fiber arts and beads has been her main focus for the past 5 years. She is starting to work with her drawing & painting again. We hope to see some of that work soon!

Her studio name, Eazie's Eyes is in honor of her talented, beautiful & magic sister, Jennifer EZ Corrine, who made her promise to get back to her artwork and set up a studio. For you, Jenny.

Kathy Hunt [ top ]
Pottery & Glass
Artist's Statement: Art comes through the physical and gets filtered through the spirit. As an artist I try to search for that feeling to translate. Sometimes it is funny, sometimes joyous and sometimes quiet and serene. The viewer is always the ultimate judge. I always feel that my collectors are my secret friends that have some shared experience that translates through my art. I work in many media to express this, glass, clay and paint. I hope that you enjoy my work as much as I do making it!

Murry Keith Mason, Jr [ top ]
Paintings
Murry Keith Mason, Jr was born in Baltimore in 1957. As the eldest of 3 brothers & 3 sisters, he started painting and drawing at a very young age. He spent much of his early years with his great-grandparents. His great-grandmother became a source of love & inspiration in his pursuit of fine arts. Keith graduated with a commercial art diploma from Mergenthaler Vocation-Technical High School in 1977 and went on to receive a degree from The Art Instruction Schools of Minneapolis in 1985 but remains primarily self taught. He enjoys painting the inner sub-conscious of the mind, dreams and fantasy. He works primarily with watercolors & acrylics and is currently experimenting with collage.

Artist's Statement: The mind is a microcosm of the universe itself, thereby giving one an endless source of subject matter. I feel that a few of the most important rules to art are, to keep it fresh, fun and to never give up. I hope to display, though my art, the good and beautiful side of human nature. I hope to bring joy, happiness and beauty into the world.
